Welcome to our local Food Assembly in Ancoats!
We're a collective of local farmers and artisan food makers bringing you all kinds of products, including from fresh vegetables, sausages, smoked salmon, cheese, delicious hand-made pasta and chocolates made right here in the heart of Manchester - to name just a few!
Our online markets are open monthly - for collections on the first Thursday of the month. The online marketplace opens on the Wednesday of the preceding week and closes at midnight on the Tuesday of the collection week for you to browse the products and shop.
Your completed orders will then be available to collect direct from the producers at Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse between 5pm and 7pm on the Thursday. While you're there you can chat to producers, meet your neighbours and maybe enjoy a delicious locally-brewed pint or snack from the pub kitchen.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Twitter feed for news and updates as well! We are free to join and open to everyone whether you live in Ancoats, work in Manchester City Centre or you're a neighbour, friend or visitor.
We're all about supporting small-scale independent food producers, reducing food miles and waste, championing regional food for city dwellers and perhaps most importantly making shopping more fun!
So welcome to our community and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or good ideas.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.
Why join The Food Assembly?
Eat the most delicious and freshest food in your area. Locally sourced and more transparent, the average distance of food travelled is only 28 miles!
No commitment to buy and joining is free. Sharing recipes and cooking tips with your neighbours is just an extra bonus.
Our food producers are passionate about growing and making your food, that's why we pay them over 80% for their work, in comparison to 20-50% from supermarkets.
We are about real people and real food: when you pick up your order, you get to connect with your community and food in a healthier way.
